Overview
Arena is an AI model comparison and evaluation platform operated by Arena Intelligence Inc. It grew out of "Chatbot Arena" by researchers at UC Berkeley and was renamed from LMArena to its current name on January 28, 2026. According to the official site, it offers a Battle mode where you compare and vote on answers from two anonymous models, Side by Side for comparing models you choose, and Direct Chat with a single model; votes in Battle mode feed into the official rankings based on the Bradley-Terry model. The leaderboards are divided into categories such as Text, WebDev, image generation, image editing, video generation, Vision, Document, Search and Agent. The terms of service state that the service is currently provided free of charge, and the company separately offers a paid service, "AI Evaluations", for enterprises and model developers.
